need computer

Im tired of my 6+ year old ecrapmachine...I need something faster,
I was thinking this

Except I wanna keep my harddrive with all the info ive got on there, its win98SE. Can I do that right? DSL will be much faster on it too, since my old computer downloads same file 3 times SLOWER than new computer using same DSL connection.

You can just add the Win98 computer hard drive as a secondary drive and copy the files over, however you will not be able to move programs over.

If it has a good quality motherboard (MSI, Asus, Abit, Gigabyte, etc) and it's truely an Antec power supply, and it's a kickass deal, but even then, it would be a good deal none the less

Win98, will run, but run poorly. Alot of the new hardware and software has poor, if not Win98 supported. The computer will run, but not nearly to it's full potential. You'll be getting a new computer, but you wont be much better off until you get XP on there. And Windows 98 doesn't like more than 512MB RAM, I believe there's a problem runing more where you'll get overflow errors and programs keep saying your out of memory.

How do you know if it is going ot be a good deal when the auction hasn't ended and you dont know what the final price will be?

Just get XP and install your old hard drive.
