I'll keep a log of ECU part numbers:

OBD-I:

PGT ECU's:
'93 MTX: KL07 (CA=KL07 18 881C)
'94 MTX: KL48, KL50 (CA),
'95 MTX: KL89, KL90 (CA) [dark gray connectors], I also found some evidence of early model '95's with ECU's labeled KL48-18881-C

'93 ATX: KL07
'94 ATX: KL48

MX-6 ECU's:
'93: KL01, KL03 (CA)
'94: KL57 (CA MX6) [bright yellow connectors], also KL55 18 881B (Federal)
'95: KL86, KL85 (no distinction between ATX and MTX, no consistency between A or B suffix)

KLZE ECU's (must be used in combination with JE50 VAF):
MTX=KL31
ATX=KL36

OBD-II

'96 ATX=KLD1

Both work well with the ze. I use the 36. It says it's for an automatic tranny but I have 5 spd and no problems with it. I also have a friend who has the kl31 ecu, but it's stamped with kl36 on the same sticker. I believe they are pretty much identical other than the tranny. I could be wrong and if anyone has more knowledge on the difference, please let us know. There are plenty of people using either setup.

Does the KL55 ECU work well with the KL-DE?
