what doeas MX-3 mean?

Post by robinek »

Hi, does anybody know what MX3 means? And what about MX5? I think that R in RX7 and RX8 probably means rotary but I have no clue about MX. Thanks for answers and tips for infos.

I remember there being something like this before.. I think that the rx in rx-7 stands for 'rotary experimental' but the mx in mx3 I have no idea..

Our cars are "out of this world" so it could mean.....

Mazda Xtraterrestrial.....?

Hint: That means Mazda Designers were in touch with Aliens, hence the Area 51 look the MX-Series cars all have!!

I love to see proof that mx actually stands for something, but until then i will just believe that they called it that cause it sounds sporty.

Hello MxMaz~

Want to believe? Go to your local Mazda dealership. There, they will have a magazine called MazdaFuel. You're welcome to find your answer there. Don't want to go, or believe me anyway?

Tell me why Mazda has changed the "Miata" back to MX-5, and their new SUV the "Crosssport" to CX-7? Why did they name the new new "RX-7" the "RX-8", instead of GoFastCarToyZoomZoom? Get the drift?

Because in fact, you have it all backwards. Miata sounds sporty, MX-5 actually stands for something.

Cheers ya hoser! :P

What the hell are you blabbing on about? I am after reading about 20 different meanings for what mx stands for..... So i just assumed that if people are saying so many different things then it cant actually be written somewhere what it really stands for or there wouldnt be so much confusion. Why dont you scan the page you are talking about and post it up. Tell me why they called it mx-3 precidia here in Canada? You saying precidia actually means something? and if it does mean something then why didnt they have that same name everywhere? look that up in your book while you're at it. Tell me why they called it eunos presso or 30x in other parts of the world? Is it because they actually have meaning? and if it does mean something then why didnt they have that same name everywhere? Why did they call is az-3 in Japan? what is there some language conversion from japanese that az means the same as mx? ya catching my drift?

Then the "correct name" of the car is:
Mazda Mazda experimental 3.

A bit weird. But I think that's correct.

True, but along the same lines, look at the Mazda3, you could technically call it the Mazda Mazda3
