Springs from what car?

Post by ovendenk »

hey. i've been looking around and i know in the past there was a post describing which parts from which cars would fit on our cars, but i can't find it. i'm looking for eibach or tein lowering springs, but they are hard to find and expensive for our car. if i remember correctly, the 91-97 escort and early 90's 323 suspension parts would fit. am i wrong? are there any other car's that share our suspension?

any help is very much appreciated.

i beleive all escort (91+) will work. but I KNOW 91-96 for sure, and 90-94 protege's. I also know Eibach has springs for your car, and if not, they make them for the Escort.

but the spring rate would be different between the MX-3 and the Escort.
There isn't much difference in weight between the mx-3 & the escort zx2. I looked it up & there is only like 50lbs. difference.

IMO I wouldn't get springs for the escort. I as well as a few others that have bought springs for an escort have a problem with the rear sitting about a 1 inch higher in the back than the front.

Mx-3 H&R springs are some of the stiffer ones for better handling.

I am going with those with the sprint springs for a protege for a 2in drop all around. I will probably end up ditching them for a slightly higher spring, as thats the setup thats on my 323, and its too low IMO as is.
GS + BP + T3 + 9lb flywheel - some dead weight = ;)
