because the bumpers are mass produced so they try to make it close to fitting a couple of cars, eg cavalier, mx-3, etc. this is my understanding anyways.

Who makes a "universal" body kit? There is no such thing b/c there is absolutely no way to have any one bumper that will fit more than one car...
The reason that any aftermarket bumper won't fit right on without some trimming and what not is b/c they are mass produced (as mentioned before) however, the issue with the mass production is that they use a mold to reproduce the bumper and over time the mold will warp and generally degenerate. This will cause more fitment issues the more the mold is used. There are numerous ways to make a mold and the more runs you want to produce from a given mold the more it will cost to build the mold. Most companies use a mid-grade mold process that will produce a few hundred at most before the mold it totally junk and probably only a hundred or so that are close enough to sell without being called complete crap from the persons who buy the bumpers.
Matter of fact that bumper is probably molded from the original FX Designs bumper which wasn't that great of a fit. And like making a copy of a copy from a copy machine the more times you copy it the worse it will get. make sense?
If you want the best bumper then use the OEM one, but even those require some playing with to get to fit exactly.
Aftermarket bumpers and such are not crap, just that the cost ot make sure every one of the bumpers they created were perfect would raise the cost to such a level that you wouldn't buy it anyway. So just expect that you will sped a fe whours making it fit and know that is jsut a part of the deal. With that understanding you won't be upset. Even Wings West kits need some final fitting...

Correct me if im wrong but they didnt actually MAKE that kit, since its been out longer than they have been around. they just get it from another company that makes it, at a discounted rate then raise the price on you making you pay more.

IMO it looks like a fish.

I would not get that bumper, I had the mp5 onderground design front bumper on my mx-3 and I loved the look of it.

that one looks so common and well it doesnt flow with the lines on the car, the Mx-3 is really round and that has jagged edges all over it.

if its your thing go for it just shop around maybe :?
