Actually I'm from alberta and I'm in the same delema. I would like to know how much it would be to swap the auto tranny to a manual?

In fact my mx-3 is a 1993 no problems, but would it be worth swapping the auto for a manual at 170 000 kms?

Only worth it to swap if you intend to race with it. If it's just your daily driver and you don't zip around town like a Paul Walker-wannabe, then regularly changing your tranny fluid and proper maintenance will help the ATX last much longer. Mine's over 123,000 kms now with no problems and I've heard of someone on this board before running over 210 000kms with the ATX that still runs like it was day one.
