you got a b6ZE I believe. Can easily be converted to the b6t(t stands for turbo) though. This whole place was confusing as hell when I first joined, but 7 months later i've got like 1200 posts. Just keep reading man, you'll get the hang of it sooner or later. Welcome!

Actually.. The B6ZE is the Miata engine.. in a 95 RS he would have a B6DE. Though you could still make it into a B6T. B6T's came in late 80's 323's and early 90's Mercury Capri's.. there is a FAQ in the 4Cyl FAQ that Gro wrote up a while ago. Easily confused though.. I thought my engine was the B6ZE for a while because I saw it listed in my uncles shop manual for 94. But the manual he uses at the shop doesnt distinguish between cars.. It just shows the engines that were available for that particular year. Cheers :)

From what I read and researched here, the B6DE also has the oil cooled pistons. All B series mazda motors do, and I think I saw the K series (V6) motors have oil cooled pistons too... not positive though.

Hmm.. I just double checked.. and found conflicting information.. apparently either B6DE or B6ZE could have been in 94+ MX-3's.. though I was on the money with the B6T info :D Sorry to add to the confusion.. though I thought I read elsewhere that the B6ZE was the miata engine.. hmmmm...

all you really need to know is that its a DOHC B6 motor. I also found the same info as Tunes67. Some stuff I read says b6ze others say b6de. I swear theres a great thread on here that list every damn one...Hmmm

Oh heck no.. with a engine that fresh.. you wont have to touch the bottom end.. you could port the head & intake, maybe put a header on it.. but if my engine was that fresh.. I would turbo it.. its a prime candidate for 30 HP worth of boost ;) Though the best thing you could start with is a bit of reading.. do a search on turboing the B6DE.. once you know what you need to do.. then hit the buy/sell forum & e-bay to dig up the parts you will need. Best of luck.
