New SRD "3rd link" shifter bushing kit

Very pleased w/the other SRD shifter bushings. Couldn't resist Luc's post- sent payment this a.m. for the new product. Anyone else go for this new bronzoil kit yet? http://www.mx-3.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.ph ... 125#262125

SRD has always brought out much needed, and excellent quality products for the MX-3. These products are items that are actually functional, and not just "go fast looking" products.

If SRD's previous products are any comparison, we can expect this 3rd link bushing to be another excellent release!

Can't wait to get mine in and installed.

Jeff; nuf said for me, I'm sold. I just emailed Luc (?) on acquiring all the bushing sets etc. Time to replace old OEM bits with a higher quality product. Just makes good sense. Just might sort out that sporatic 3rd gear upshift annoyance with my short shifter.

Only thing I dont have from SRD is the battry tie-down.
As I`m about to relocate my battery to the trunk, I dont need it either

Just paid for the 3rd link bushing though

nope, the gears are exactly the same..

but the linkage between your shifter in the cockpit and the actual gearbox aint a straight line.. so theres linkages that basically connect everything together, and after a while the OEM ones get worn and this makes the shifting action a bit more sloppy..

so you can replace them with new ones to make it feel all tight and better again, I guess... someone correct anything I may have got wrong there eh?

but I think thats basically what its all about...I might order the ones that are really easy to install, and see if it makes a difference.. I have no problems shifting, and I find its a nice notchy, hard-to-shift kinda box.. just how I like it, although if it had a slightly shorter throw and the shifter was not as tall it'd be perfect - I seem to remember SRD do adjustable short-shifters.. I *might* eventually get one.... dunno though, I'm pretty damn happy with my MX-3 the way it is, they're damn good fun when properly driven as standard IMO!

snellgrove's got it right cept I'd add that the SRD bushings are bronzoil self lubricating replacements for the rubber orig. equip. bushings. The bronzoil material is able to be machined to much closer tolerances than the factory bushings. SRD doesn't sell a short shifter but their bushings work very well with a B&M type of short throw shifter and will not fit an adjustable short throw shifter, i.e. pacesetter.

ah cool, I might get the bushings fitted (by myself probably, but I aint doing that "3rd link" one, that can wait lol and I have no problems shifting.. the other 2 are meant to be very easy to fit? )

damn, i was planning on drilling out my bolt & buying another set of bronzeoils to shove in there but this kit is even better! includes the proper diameter bolt and all.

You can market these to protege guys too (among other ppl) if you didn't know..the shift linkage is the same on all festivas, proteges, escorts, very likely probes/mx6/626's

VERY VERY EASY. if you can unscrew a bolt you can do this upgrade.
