What kind of times should I expect from a turboed KLDE?

Post by Juans_93_MX3 »

I am just wondering
Say I buy a KLDE, turbo it, run it as max boost (14psi) and hit 250hp/250ft torque, what kind of times should I expect?
Infact, what cars should I be able to beat?

you only need to run probably 6-7 psi to hit 250 whp on a klde.

That depends on your skill and the skill of the other driver. There are too many factors to tell what cars you'll beat. Just shoot for a certain E/T and start building the car for it.

Are you serious?
With 250hp/250ft torque running on FWD I would be able to run low 13s or high 12s?
Sounds too good to be true
Would those times be possible on street tires? Or would I need some type of track tires?

EDIT:
It cant be possible

Low 13s probably with upgraded suspension and track tires but not low 13s and high 12

exactly...

Bonestockkid (which I haven't seen around here in ages) pulled a 14.6 on an all-motor DE! Timpronk posted 14.385 on his all motor ZE last year.

A all motor DE? NA KLDE engine with no mods except exhaust, flywheel and some small other things?

its better to run a KLDE w/ turbo than a ZE turbo. Lower compression = more boost. Plus the valve retainers may last a bit longer. 7-8 psi is maz Id run on eother, then you'd need stronger ronds, ect/

not street tires, or if they are street tires, make sure they are sticky.

You can pull off low 13s with a 250hp/250ftlb car.

if the ze with the exhaust done, flywheel, cai, bored tb, pulley can run between 14.1 -14.5 commonly(aproximatly 215hp and 170ftlbs,)
and you jump the the 250s the torque difference is retarded meaning your gonna increase pull similar to the original k8 to ze swap. Then take that diffrence and add it again and yes your into 13s. IF you cant get 13s with sticky rubber and your 250/250 in a little mx3 then you cant drive.

I would not doubt a good driver, good tires with that hp/tq in a mx3 can get 12s, if not theres always a 50 shot.

There's a probe on probetalk with a stock ZE and a few bolt on's in the 12's. It's on a pretty good diet though.

NA, intake and exaust, good suspension to reduce wheelhop (which i have an abundance of in my car), and thats it
