THIS KIT WILL NOT WORK WITH MOST STRUT TOWER BRACES AS INTERFERENCE WILL OCCUR BETWEEN THE SUPERCHARGER AND THE BRACE.
SOME ADDITIONAL RELOCATION OF ACCESSORIES MAY BE NEEDED--RESERVOIRS MAY HAVE TO BE MOVED AND HOSES MAY ALSO REQUIRE TRIMMING, EXTENDING, RELOCATION, OR MOVING TO ALLOW CLEARANCE OF THE PULLEYS/BELTS. THESE HOSES AND PARTS ARE NOT INCLUDED AND ARE NOT OFFERED BY TKTURBO.

IF THE CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH AN EGR PORT ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD SIMPLY BLOCK THE EGR PORT ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD.

THROTTLE BODY--UNPLUG THE TPS, AIR-TEMP, IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE FROM ORIGINAL UPPER INTAKE.
INTAKE MANIFOLD
BOTH BELTS (4-RIB AND 5 RIB)
POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY
POWER STEERING BRACKET FROM THE PUMP & ENGINE
PROBE GT ONLY: REMOVE A/C DRYER BOTTLE--THIS MUST BE RELOCATED TO ANOTHER AREA, AND EXTENSION HOSES MADE FOR THE REMOTE LOCATION. BEHIND THE RIGHT SHOCK TOWER IS A GOOD PLACE.
ON THE FIREWALL DOWN BELOW THE ENGINE IS A BRAKE DISTRIBUTION BLOCK THAT MANY BRAKE LINES ATTACH TO. IT IS BOLTED TO THE FIREWALL WITH TWO BOLTS. LOOSEN AND UNSCREW BOTH BOLTS. YOU MUST REMOVE THE LOWER BOLT, AND PUSH THE FITTING DOWN SO THAT THE TOP BOLT NOW GOES IN THE LOWER BOLT HOLE ON THE FIREWALL WHICH LOWERS THE FITTING 1-1/2" AND GIVES THE CLEARANCE NEEDED FOR THE SUPERCHARGER.

INSTALLATION:
INSTALL FUEL RAILS ON SC MANIFOLD
MODIFY THE STOCK POWER STEERING BRACKET
MODIFICATION---MEASURE THE THICKNESS OF THE SUPERCHARGER SUPPORT BRACKET SUPPLIED IN THE KIT--SHOULD BE 1/4" THICK. GRIND OR CUT 1/4" FROM THE TOP BOLT BACKSIDE OF THE ORIGINAL POWER STEERING PUMP ALUMINUM BRACKET. THIS WILL ALLOW THE NEW SUPPORT BRACKET TO BE SANDWICHED BETWEEN THE MODIFIED ORIGINAL POWER STEERING BRACKET AND THE BLOCK.
INSTALL THE MODIFIED POWER STEERING BRACKET LOOSELY, AND DONT INSTALL THE TOP BOLT. THE TOP BOLT HOLE ON THE ORIGINAL BRACKET WILL HAVE BEEN MODIFIED TO ALLOW THE SUPPLIED SUPERCHARGER SUPPORT BRACKET TO FIT BETWEEN THE ORIGINAL POWER STEERING BRACKET AND THE BLOCK . LOOSELY INSTALL THE SUPERCHARGER SUPPORT & IDLER PULLEY BRACKET, AND THEN SLIDE THE BOLT THROUGH THE POWER STEERING PUMP TOP BOLT HOLE. THE SUPERCHARGER SUPPORT BRACKET AND ORIGINAL POWER STEERING BRACKET ARE ALL HELD IN PLACE BY THE ORIGINAL TOP POWER STEERING BRACKET BOLT.
CHECK THE OIL LEVEL IN THE SUPERCHARGER DRIVE SNOUT. IF THE UNIT WAS SHIPPED BY AIR, IT MUST BE SHIPPED DRY. THE OIL LEVEL SHOULD BE CHECKED ONCE A YEAR. YOU MUST ADD SYNTHETIC GEAR OIL TO THE BLOWER DRIVE SNOUT BEFORE INSTALLATION.
BOLT THE SUPERCHARGER TO THE MANIFOLD AND TRY TO INSTALL IT.
SOMETIMES THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO MOUNT IT ON THE ENGINE. IT MAY BECOME NECESSARY TO LOOSEN THE ENGINE MOUNTS AND SLIDE THE ENGINE FORWARD TO ALLOW THE SUPERCHARGER TO BOLT ON.
YOU CAN REUSE THE ORIGINAL GASKETS OR PURCHASE NEW ONES. IF REUSING THE OLD GASKETS, COAT BOTH SIDES OF THE GASKETS WITH A THIN LAYER OF RTV SILICONE.
BOLT THE SUPERCHARGER/MANIFOLD TO THE ENGINE AND TIGHTEN THE MANIFOLD/SUPERCHARGER BOLTS. USE A SEQUENCE SIMILAR TO A CYL HEAD PATTERN, AND TIGHTEN IN THREE STEPS SO AS NOT TO BREAK OFF ANY MOUNTING TABS ON THE MANIFOLD
TIGHTEN THE POWER STEERING BRACKET BOLTS, THE SUPERCHARGER/IDLER PULLEY BRACKET BOLTS, AND THE IDLER PULLEY BOLTS.
INSTALL THE POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY
INSTALL ORIGINAL T-BODY ON SC MANIFOLD PLENUM
INSTALL THE THROTTLE CABLE.
A PRODUCTION 4-RIB BELT IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS COMBINATION. THEREFORE IT IS NECESSARY TO USE A 5 OR 6 RIB PRODUCTION BELT AND SLICE THE EXTRA RIB(S) OFF OF THE BELT. USE A RAZOR BLADE AND BE EXTREMELY CAREFULL. TURN THE BELT INSIDE-OUT TO FACILITATE CUTTING OFF THE EXTRA RIBS.
INSTALL NEW SUPERCHARGER & PS PUMP BELT AND TIGHTEN
INSTALL A/C & ALTERNATOR FAN BELT AND TIGHTEN
INSTALL THE AIR METER AND HOSE. A HIGH FLOW AIR FILTER SHOULD BE USED . A SIMPLE SETUP USING TWO 3" MANDREL-BENT ALUMINUM PIPES WITH CONNECTORS AND AN AIR FILTER ON ONE END DOWN UNDER THE BATTERY TRAY WILL ALLOW FOR COOL AIR. IF YOU ARE IN A RAINY AREA WITH STANDING WATER QUITE COMMON, I DONT RECOMMEND A LOW COLD AIR SETUP.
INSTALL FMU--THE RETURN LINE COMING FROM THE STOCK FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR SHOULD BE REMOVED (ABOUT 5 " LONG) AND THE NEW SECTION OF FUEL LINE ROUTED FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE STOCK REGULATOR TO THE FMU. MOUNT THE FMU ON THE FIREWALL OR DRIVERS SIDE SHOCK TOWER. THE FMU HAS THREE FITTINGS, THE SMALLEST IS INTAKE MANIFOLD VACUUM & BOOST. THIS SHOULD BE MOUNTED FACING UP. USE THE FITTING ON THE MANIFOLD CLOSE TO THE STOCK FUEL REGULATOR AS THE VACUUM & BOOST SOURCE. THE OTHER TWO FITTINGS ARE FUEL FITTINGS. THE BOTTOM ONE IS HOOKED TO THE RETURN LINE TO THE FUEL TANK AND THE OTHER BOTTOM-SIDE IS HOOKED UP TO THE LINE FROM THE STOCK FUEL REGULATOR.
THERE WILL NOW BE MANY SENSORS AND VACUUM LINES THAT ARE NO LONGER NEEDED OR ARE TO BE RELOCATED TO A VACUUM SOURCE BETWEEN THE SUPERCHARGER AND THROTTLE BODY WHICH GETS NO BOOST. THE SUPERCHARGER ITSELF HAS SEVERAL PROVISIONS FOR VACUUM. THE INTAKE MANIFOLD ALSO HAS SEVERAL VACUUM PROVISIONS ON IT, AND ONE MUST GO TO THE FMU, WHILE THE OTHER MUST GO TO THE BOOST GAUGE AND ANY OTHER BOOST SENSITIVE CONTROLLER. THE ORIGINAL VRIS SOLENOIDS AND ACTUATORS THAT WERE MOUNTED ON THE ORIGINAL INTAKE MANIFOLD ARE NO LONGER NECESSARY.
TUNING:
RETARD THE BASE TIMING 5-8 DEGREES, BASED ON I/2 TO 1-1/2 DEGREE RETARD FOR EACH PSI BOOST. YOU MUST USE PREMIUM FUEL, AND AVOID DETONATION. IF ANY DETONATION OCCURS, THE TIMING IS TOO ADVANCED, THE FUEL IS TOO LEAN OR POOR QUALITY, AND/OR TOO HIGH BOOST LEVELS ARE OCCURING.
IF THE STOCK FUEL PUMP WONT KEEP THE MIXTURE RICH ENOUGH UNDER BOOST CONDITIONS, IT MAY BECOME NECESSARY TO USE AN ADDITIONAL INLINE BOOSTER FUEL PUMP.
MOST FMU'S ARE 8:1 UNITS, SO FUEL PRESSURE RISES 8-12 PSI FOR EACH PSI BOOST. AT 5 PSI BOOST, THE FUEL PRESSURE HAS RISEN 40-60 PSI, OR FROM 45 TO 85-105 PSI. ABOVE 7 PSI BOOST, THE INJECTORS MUST BE REPLACED WITH LARGER UNITS OR TOO HIGH FUEL PRESSURE WILL BE THE RESULT. IF A 'T' IS PLACED IN THE VACUUM LINE AND SOME PRESSURE BLED OFF, THEN THE MIXTURE UNDER BOOST CONDITIONS CAN BE ADJUSTED. THIS WILL MOST LIKELY NOT BE NECESSARY WITH THE STOCK INJECTORS, BUT WITH LARGER INJECTORS THIS ADJUSTMENT MAY BE UTILIZED.

SOME KL PROBE GT VEHICLES MAY HAVE INTERFERENCE ISSUES WITH THE FIREWALL. THICK WASHERS AND LONGER BOLTS WILL BE A SIMPLE SOLUTION.
SOME KL HEATER HOSES MAY INTERFERE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. TRIMMING THE HEATER HOSE FITTINGS AND USING HOSES WITH ELBOWS WILL SOLVE THIS ISSUE.

THE TOP BOLT HOLE ON THE ORIGINAL BRACKET WILL HAVE BEEN MODIFIED TO ALLOW THE SUPPLIED SUPERCHARGER SUPPORT BRACKET TO FIT BETWEEN THE ORIGINAL POWER STEERING BRACKET AND THE BLOCK . LOOSELY INSTALL THE SUPERCHARGER SUPPORT & IDLER PULLEY BRACKET, AND THEN SLIDE THE BOLT THROUGH THE POWER STEERING PUMP TOP BOLT HOLE. THE SUPERCHARGER SUPPORT BRACKET AND ORIGINAL POWER STEERING BRACKET ARE ALL HELD IN PLACE BY THE ORIGINAL TOP POWER STEERING BRACKET BOLT.
CHECK THE OIL LEVEL IN THE SUPERCHARGER DRIVE SNOUT. IF THE UNIT WAS SHIPPED BY AIR, IT MUST BE SHIPPED DRY. THE OIL LEVEL SHOULD BE CHECKED ONCE A YEAR. YOU MUST ADD SYNTHETIC GEAR OIL TO THE BLOWER DRIVE SNOUT BEFORE INSTALLATION.
BOLT THE SUPERCHARGER TO THE MANIFOLD AND TRY TO INSTALL IT.
SOMETIMES THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO MOUNT IT ON THE ENGINE. IT MAY BECOME NECESSARY TO LOOSEN THE ENGINE MOUNTS AND SLIDE THE ENGINE FORWARD TO ALLOW THE SUPERCHARGER TO BOLT ON.
YOU CAN REUSE THE ORIGINAL GASKETS OR PURCHASE NEW ONES. IF REUSING THE OLD GASKETS, COAT BOTH SIDES OF THE GASKETS WITH A THIN LAYER OF RTV SILICONE.
BOLT THE SUPERCHARGER/MANIFOLD TO THE ENGINE AND TIGHTEN THE MANIFOLD/SUPERCHARGER BOLTS. USE A SEQUENCE SIMILAR TO A CYL HEAD PATTERN, AND TIGHTEN IN THREE STEPS SO AS NOT TO BREAK OFF ANY MOUNTING TABS ON THE MANIFOLD
TIGHTEN THE POWER STEERING BRACKET BOLTS, THE SUPERCHARGER/IDLER PULLEY BRACKET BOLTS, AND THE IDLER PULLEY BOLTS.
INSTALL THE POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY
INSTALL ORIGINAL T-BODY ON SC MANIFOLD PLENUM
INSTALL THE THROTTLE CABLE.
A PRODUCTION 4-RIB BELT IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS COMBINATION. THEREFORE IT IS NECESSARY TO USE A 5 OR 6 RIB PRODUCTION BELT AND SLICE THE EXTRA RIB(S) OFF OF THE BELT. USE A RAZOR BLADE AND BE EXTREMELY CAREFULL. TURN THE BELT INSIDE-OUT TO FACILITATE CUTTING OFF THE EXTRA RIBS.
INSTALL NEW SUPERCHARGER & PS PUMP BELT AND TIGHTEN
INSTALL A/C & ALTERNATOR FAN BELT AND TIGHTEN
INSTALL THE AIR METER AND HOSE. A HIGH FLOW AIR FILTER SHOULD BE USED . A SIMPLE SETUP USING TWO 3" MANDREL-BENT ALUMINUM PIPES WITH CONNECTORS AND AN AIR FILTER ON ONE END DOWN UNDER THE BATTERY TRAY WILL ALLOW FOR COOL AIR. IF YOU ARE IN A RAINY AREA WITH STANDING WATER QUITE COMMON, I DONT RECOMMEND A LOW COLD AIR SETUP.
INSTALL FMU--THE RETURN LINE COMING FROM THE STOCK FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR SHOULD BE REMOVED (ABOUT 5 " LONG) AND THE NEW SECTION OF FUEL LINE ROUTED FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE STOCK REGULATOR TO THE FMU. MOUNT THE FMU ON THE FIREWALL OR DRIVERS SIDE SHOCK TOWER. THE FMU HAS THREE FITTINGS, THE SMALLEST IS INTAKE MANIFOLD VACUUM & BOOST. THIS SHOULD BE MOUNTED FACING UP. USE THE FITTING ON THE MANIFOLD CLOSE TO THE STOCK FUEL REGULATOR AS THE VACUUM & BOOST SOURCE. THE OTHER TWO FITTINGS ARE FUEL FITTINGS. THE BOTTOM ONE IS HOOKED TO THE RETURN LINE TO THE FUEL TANK AND THE OTHER BOTTOM-SIDE IS HOOKED UP TO THE LINE FROM THE STOCK FUEL REGULATOR.
THERE WILL NOW BE MANY SENSORS AND VACUUM LINES THAT ARE NO LONGER NEEDED OR ARE TO BE RELOCATED TO A VACUUM SOURCE BETWEEN THE SUPERCHARGER AND THROTTLE BODY WHICH GETS NO BOOST. THE SUPERCHARGER ITSELF HAS SEVERAL PROVISIONS FOR VACUUM. THE INTAKE MANIFOLD ALSO HAS SEVERAL VACUUM PROVISIONS ON IT, AND ONE MUST GO TO THE FMU, WHILE THE OTHER MUST GO TO THE BOOST GAUGE AND ANY OTHER BOOST SENSITIVE CONTROLLER. THE ORIGINAL VRIS SOLENOIDS AND ACTUATORS THAT WERE MOUNTED ON THE ORIGINAL INTAKE MANIFOLD ARE NO LONGER NECESSARY.
TUNING:
RETARD THE BASE TIMING 5-8 DEGREES, BASED ON I/2 TO 1-1/2 DEGREE RETARD FOR EACH PSI BOOST. YOU MUST USE PREMIUM FUEL, AND AVOID DETONATION. IF ANY DETONATION OCCURS, THE TIMING IS TOO ADVANCED, THE FUEL IS TOO LEAN OR POOR QUALITY, AND/OR TOO HIGH BOOST LEVELS ARE OCCURING.
IF THE STOCK FUEL PUMP WONT KEEP THE MIXTURE RICH ENOUGH UNDER BOOST CONDITIONS, IT MAY BECOME NECESSARY TO USE AN ADDITIONAL INLINE BOOSTER FUEL PUMP.
MOST FMU'S ARE 8:1 UNITS, SO FUEL PRESSURE RISES 8-12 PSI FOR EACH PSI BOOST. AT 5 PSI BOOST, THE FUEL PRESSURE HAS RISEN 40-60 PSI, OR FROM 45 TO 85-105 PSI. ABOVE 7 PSI BOOST, THE INJECTORS MUST BE REPLACED WITH LARGER UNITS OR TOO HIGH FUEL PRESSURE WILL BE THE RESULT. IF A 'T' IS PLACED IN THE VACUUM LINE AND SOME PRESSURE BLED OFF, THEN THE MIXTURE UNDER BOOST CONDITIONS CAN BE ADJUSTED. THIS WILL MOST LIKELY NOT BE NECESSARY WITH THE STOCK INJECTORS, BUT WITH LARGER INJECTORS THIS ADJUSTMENT MAY BE UTILIZED.

UPDATES & CORRECTIONS:
SOME KL PROBE GT VEHICLES MAY HAVE INTERFERENCE ISSUES WITH THE FIREWALL. THE KIT WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED FOR THE MX6, AND THE PROBE GT SOMETIMES HAS LESS CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE FIREWALL AND THE SUPERCHARGER. SHIMMING OF THE MOUNTS OR MOUNT SUPPORTS MAY BE REQUIRED. THICK WASHERS AND LONGER BOLTS WILL BE A SIMPLE SOLUTION.
SOME KL HEATER HOSES MAY INTERFERE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. TRIMMING THE HEATER HOSE FITTINGS AND USING HOSES WITH ELBOWS WILL SOLVE THIS ISSUE.

oops
that thomas knight turbo kit was for the 1.8 v6, not the bp. just thought i should point that out, but if you have a bp i have a complete kit i would sell for the right price, i just ran a 189.8 on the dyno at 7 pounds of boost. I actually just got it on there but id like to go bigger.
