Need to know when putting in my1.8 and removeing 1.6 will I need to change the complet wireing harness.can you guys give me some pointers.thanks Greg

Well im not completely sure but my mx-3 has got the bp swap and im pretty sure its still using the stock b6 harness. make sure you swap the ecu though

I used my stock wiring harness for my 1992 1.6L SOHC to be used on my 1.8L DOHC protege LX engine.
I believe a couple of people have used the stock harness from the 1994+ mx-3, but seemed like a lot of mods to do. So in this case I think it would be easier to get the BP 1.8 's harness and put it in. :wink:

ok well i used my sohc harness as well. it was really easy w/ typhoonk write up. i finished my swap in one day. forgot to thank typhoonk lol.

i used the stock harness and the stock ECU..... no need the change the harness... i DID have to use the old injector harness because the one from the 1. has a different plug.
