K8 turboing

Post by nope-mx3 »

I`m just about to buy a turbo of ebay, and I just wanted to get some input on the size of it.

It`s a Garrett T3 .42/.48 AR, would this be big enough on a stock K8?
Gonna push a maximum of 7 psi.

I got about 24 hours to decide ($200)

what trim is the compressor and how much boost do you want to run..if you give me those details I could try to calculate with the compressor map to see if it should go well. You want better top end or low end ?

It`s one like this:

Doesnt say a lot actually.

I`m not gonna run more than 7psi as I got stock internals.
low end or high end, hmm, difficult question, I want better acceleration, as I dont drive fast, but I like to accelerate :)

I got a US adress for stuff like this :)
But it`s only profitable for big heavy things.

Mitmaks sent my rims that way.

we can't really tell you if it'll suit your needs since it doesn't say much on the add...but most t3's will be good for the k8

I bought it atleast :)
now, I`m just trying to figure out the rest I need.

1. 8:1 or 10:1 fmu? (OBX 8:1 is $99 on ebay)
2. waldbro 190lph pump (is it a specific partnumber, or do they all fit?)
3. klde 220cc injectors (are these needed?)
4. IC
5. Bov
6. piping
7. management unit? (is this necessary, if so, wich should I get?)
8. a/f ratio gauge, boost gauge, oil pressure gauge

Anyone have any of this for sale?

1. get a cartech 2025..it is adjustable just by turing a knob. you don't have to swap disc lie the Voretch's to change the rising rate..I'll have one for sale as soon as I intall my Megasquirt.
2.get the 255lph HP..same price just better
3.I'll have them too for sale soon
7.what management unit? are you talking about a fmu.if so then I answered in number 1

Excellent, I`ll probably buy the cartech & the injectors.

The management I was thinking of, was something like an Apexi safc.
But I guess I wouldn`t need the cartech then.

Is there any specific walbro 255lph pump I should get, or are the ones on ebay (for random vehicles) just fine to install?

I`m just a bit unsure if I`ll be able to get the fuelpressure low enough when idle and slow driving (no boost).
I dont want to run too rich when it`s not needed :)

S-AFC doesn't work with our ecu at WOT so it's useless...I ran my 255lph (hi pressure) on my ze n/a without a problem..
You want the pump for a mx-6/probe...it'll fit don't worry..

I was thinking of a Unichip by Dastek.
This can manage extra injectors, turbo-boost, ignition etc etc.

I got a real good price on this installed and mapped on a rolling dyno.

Just thought that this would be better than a mechanical fmu

It`s a piggyback system. It supposedly works really well.

Now I got some parts atleast:

turbo, IC, boostgauge, afr gauge.

I`m lacking 2 injectors to mount on the intake (wich is activated on boost),
fmu and piping.

Anything else I should (must) get?
I`m not sure if I need a bigger walbro pump yet.
