when buying used struts that are right in front of you, how do u know if they are good or not? any tips? anything u can do to make sure they are in good condition? thanks.

check to see if there is oil leaking around the strut, thats one way, but the struts might be dead and u won't know it till u have them install on the car

well obviously check for any visual damage but i wouldnt buy used ones anyway myself

what if i push the piston down by hand and it comes back up by itself, doesnt that mean its good? and if it doesnt come back up by itself then its shot?

honestly, i wouldnt touch used ones with a ten foot pole. I figure the money's better spent getting decent ones with a lifetime warranty on them. I just spend 600 getting a set of Tokico struts for mine.. expensive, but I can have em replaced if they go.
