Tranny Issues.. again

Post by Sonicxtacy02 »

Ok i had my transmission rebuilt yet again by aamco (2nd time in 2 weeks). I got the car back yesterday and there is a vibration during acceleration that seems to be coming from the front right side of the car. My rear left tire was flat and i thought that was the problem but i inflated it and the problem is still there. I'm tryin to get some ideas as to what the problem could be. The mounts were checked 2 weeks ago so i know their not bad but could it be that they forgot to fasten the right one? I'm also thinkin it could have something to do with axles, which i've been told were good too. Any ideas would help. Thanks in advance.

I would look for any welts in the tires(probably not it), and check if you have a torn boot which could in turn be a worn axle shaft.

Vibration on acceleration can come from grounded or missaligned motor mounts. Brake tourque the engine and have someone check under the hood and watch for engine movement. be careful. Bad wheel bearings will not cause a problem on acceleration only. If you did not have the vibration before the work was done it is probably related to the work performed.

Steve you were absolutely right.. it ended up being the wheel bearings. Aamco paid for them in full. I FINALLY HAVE MY CAR BACK!!!! :D
