Where to put ATF in manual transmission

i just replaced the cv joint and axelshaft on my 1994 4cyl mx3 and when i pulled the broke one out ATF poored out, was just wondering where is the place to put the ATF back in? i couldnt find it, sorry new to mx-3's any info would help a great deal thnx

to refill your tranny, pull out the speedo gear on the top/back of the tranny.

my car is a 5spd, why would there be ATF in there?<BR>should i put ATF back in it?

nono i know that but my car is manual, why would the tranny be full of ATF, i read its cause of tempature, but should i put mtf back in? or atf? any suggestions?

Some of the mazda vehicles use ATF even in manual transaxels (or so says chilton). It goes in the transmision as would regular mtf fluid. <BR>Check the color to make sure, but I'm pretty sure this is the case for you. I wouldn't recomend mixing the two.<P>Otherwise it might possibly be from the power stearing, some times people use ATF instead of power stearing fluid, although I don't know why.<P>good luck

atf is made for harder shifting environments, as for mtf check the book you may need gl-4 for brass synchro gears but i am not sure

Check the online shop manual on the MX-3.com homepage,it has a detailed procedure and fluid specs.
