NASA space shuttle Columbia destroyed on Feb. 1 2003 at

I was still up when the news hit. At 9 AM CT (6 AM PST), the NASA shuttle Columbia lost control on re-entree and burned up in the upper atmosphere. NASA has declared an emergency, and President Bush and his cabinet are conveining for a meeting regarding this matter.<p>Initial cause of the disaster indicates possible damage to the guidance thrusters upon lift off by parts of the hulls' ceramic tiles flying off during launch.<p>The shuttle's last comm contact was garbled, and there has been no further contact from Columbia. Debris are falling down in the Austin Texas area, and currently search teams have been dispatched to search for survivors.<p>May I offer a prayer for the seven crew members aboard the shuttle Columbia, and for their familes. May god be with them, and keep them safe.
