Well, I've been doing some thinking and have desided to look into starting a division of MX-West in Calgary. It will still be the same club. I just figure it would make it easier to keep track of members from the Alberta area. Vancouver is quite a long drive for anyone out here to take, more than once or twice a year. <BR> Whether or not anything will happen is greatly dependent on the amount of support shown. Perhaps by the time MX-West Meet 2003 comes around, there will be a convoy of MX-3s leaving Calgary for Vancouver.<BR> So for now here's the plan. I would like to hold a small meet here in Calgary on August 24th (that's a Saturday) at 2:00pm at the Sunridge Mall parking lot, south east side close to the Cheesecake cafe.<BR>(2525 - 36th Street N.E. Calgary, Alberta)<P> There is usually a large empty area of in that part of the parking lot. This is just an oppertunity to show off your cars a bit and get to know eachother. If the meet is a success, then a Calgary division will be made. Let's see what happens! <P>-James

Well, now the Calgary MX-West meet is just 2 weeks away. Several adds have been posted around and I hope a few MX-3s will show. I haven't had much time to post adds in other towns and cities in the Alberta area, so most of the people showing will probably be from the Calgary area. This won't be a huge event but it will be a great opportunity to find new members in the Alberta area. I'm going to try hard to be there! I have a bunch of things I want to do on the car before I come. I might just show up either way to see all the other shiney MX-3s. This is exactly what we need in Calgary. So many MX-3s but no club. It might be because of all the performance shops not wanting to deal with MX-3s. It really pisses me off. Oh Well! They're just loosing business.<BR>Maybe I'll see you at the meet!<P>-Vamperism
It's good to hear it. I'm hoping for a good turn out. One thing that I'd really like is if we could have some nicely modified MX-3s come. It's hard to find them around here. If there are modified MX-3s in Calgary usually every performance shop recognizes each specific car since there are only a hand full. Perhaps the drivers that show up to them meet will be inspired to modify their car after they see some of the styling available. Less than a week to go. My girlfriend and I have handed out several flyers in the past few weeks, so well see how much interest there is.
<BR>Well, the weekend is here and Sunday is the meet. I found a lot of MX-3ers in the last week and notified them of the meet. Well, the MX-West Calgary Division meet was a success. Six MX-3s showed up for the meet. Though it wasn't a huge turn out it was still great to meet new people and their rides. I will begin work on a web site for the Calgary division and most likely post some pictures on here tomorrow. This division will definitely be under the same club but in having a separate web site it will make handling events and meets a lot easier and less confusing.
