Mustang VS 2.5 mx3 -- New comparison

Post by timpronk »

A popular topic of "will a mx3 with a... beat a mustang gt?"

According to this post mustang details

A 2000 Mustang GT with a 4.6 and some small mods ran a 14.8 et with 248 rwhp.

I am sure there are plenty gt's that are faster/slower with mods and drivers but with this particular one it would close to a mx3 with a 2.5.

Later that night... Just so I am not biased, here is one that could beat a modded mx3.

thats kind of neat to know. Most mx3 with the ze run less than 15 easily...

the quarter mile sounds right the whp is way off i think he is like most people thinking that what you have at the motor is what you have at the wheels

considering a 15% drivetrain loss, it sits at about 221whp stock. v8's respond better to breathing mods than smaller discplacement motors, so it's quite possible he picked up 20whp by freeing up the intake and exhaust. and going off his site, he's claiming 241whp, not 248. :D

well thats funny because the same year mustange with the 5 in it only puts down 200hp to the wheals stock and i have the dyno some were on tape. For all the people that watch horse power tv know what im talking about they dyno mustanges all the time and yes the small simple air mods make lots of power on the those motor but the 4.6 almost stock putting more power out then the bigger 5 :confused2:

best time Ive seen in an mx-3 w/ intake, exhaust, and ZE swap. No NOS.. 14.8 (And k8 ECU/K8 VAf combo.)

a '95 5.0 puts out about 215hp to the crank, whereas the modular 4.6 gt puts out about 260hp to the crank. est 15% drivetrain loss puts you at about 183 and 221whp.

A ZE'd MX-3 will beat any stock Mustang GT except for 2000+. The newer 4.6L engines came with a different head that gave them 260hp compared to the old head that was getting that same engine low 200s.

not true. rsx type-s have been known to put down around 180whp with a ecu remap and about 200whp with bolt ons and a hondata remap. but hey, this isnt about rsx's i just didnt want you to get the misconception that cuz its bigger it will respond to mods better.
