STREET RACING ISSUES FROM PREV POST

Post by Guest »

Hi

I dont understand why u closed mu previous post. All other boards allow street racing. If u r good at it u should be fine. FYI the GS can hit a top speed of 205km/h, trust me i have been there. Track racing is very boring. On the street u have turns and abstacles to avoid. And I am very very good with street racing. I do it almost daily and have never got a ticket or crash. I don't mean to be rude to u mx3.com but I feel we should be allowed to talk about street racing

we do talk about street racing........
we discuss how foolish and dangerous it is and that we shouldn't do it.

With this mentality maybe you should stay off this board... The ONLY obstacles you come into contact with is either other cars or people...very very stupid. How can you be good at street racing? Any you havent gotten a tocket or crashed......yet. How old are you?

*sigh*

I don't agree with talking about street racing on this board because Jeff doesn't like it. But what I dislike even more, is when people who street race talk out against the sport. I agree it's dangerous. I agree it's stupid. But so is accelerating to pass that stupid *** driving 30 in a 45. (I got a $336 ticket 2 weeks ago for such an offence) But we all do it. We ALL do it. Just close the post and explain to the kid that it's not allowed on this board and that he will get kicked off if he continues to talk about it, and leave it at that. Don't defend against something you yourself do. You know who you are.

i agree with XTC...what also shocks me is that this stuff was still posted by the individual when on the header for this forum it specifically says no streetracing stories  . also interesting is that this is only this guy's 4th or 5th post. bad way to make yourself known on a board, if u ask me.

How can you say track racing is boring? I went dragging for my first time a few months back and got instantly addicted to it...there is no worries, no cops, no obstables...just press the gas and dont look back, cause there are no worries...except for the finish line ahead and the guy beside you, but that that your there for

Unless you have an 9sec or a 25sec mx-3, i cant see dragging as boaring...

Im looking forward to autocrossing once i get my suspension and tires upgraded, and i've heard that there open circuit racing once in a while...man i cant wait!

street racing, heres how i view it...

i do it, in a straight line though. do i brag about it or discuss it on these boards, no...thats where my discussing of it ends.

i do agree, there isnt the rush at the track but there is still a great feeling and at times, its tons better than the street cuz you gain a lot of respect from an older crowd out there, who have a lot of tricks still to show us youngsters. also, you learn more about your car on the track. many times what feels stronger isnt. and learning different shift points(pending hp decrease at a certain rpm) you can play with the shift points and actually SEE if they helped or didnt.

now, respect jeff and his rules for these are his boards and it is up to him and the other mods what stays and what goes...
i got a 90 pgt...but wish it was a mx-3 bp-t!

you wouldnt believe how many times I get followed by cops because i have "street racing" items on my car (i.e. Exhaust, lowering springs, rims etc...) why might you ask? because foolish kids go out and race every weekend illegally on our streets and cops have started to target anyone and everyone who they may suspect is a street racer.

street racing... reading your post Id say youre 16-18 y/o kid. I was that young once, and when you get your car, esp mx3 gs like mine with its agressive cams, yes its hard to stay off of pedal. But do not fool yourself, I used to 'street race" kinda too, but its not worth it, I mean what you're trying to proove? If you want people to see how fast you are, Id go to track theres LOTS of people that are gonna look at you race and you'll have chance to show off. But on street its not worth it, racing some kid with "NAWS" stickers and altezzas and home-cut springs. Besides after you get a few tickets, id rather put that money youll have to pay for tickets into your mx's engine and gain that 10th of a second on that honda or whatever ull race.
