they both in theory do the same thing, however i dont see how a thin peice of metal well stregthen your suspenion all that much
now sway bars on the other hand and a lower tie bar and many other things will make a difference

anywa looks good under the hood,

when you make a hard banking turn, the engine sways from the top base, to the wheels (where it touches the road... for example..
__ top of strut (w/o strut bar)
/ /
¯¯ bottom of wheel (w/o strut bar)

when you have a strut bar installed, it makes the one strut that is giving into bending, supported byt he strut that is leaning out of the car.
this allows the front end of the car to be more rigid. which allows you to gain alot better turning/drifting.

Try it in a parking lot.. with and without a front strut bar.. HUGE difference.

I have and theres not a lot of difference, if their was wouldnt the factory add this part to the car ??? seriously though, for $60 our cost it would be a really cheap thing to add for Mazda.

and i understand the desired effect they are supposed to have on the car during hard corning but its thin peice of cheap metal ??? maybe ifyou bought one for say $500 that attaches to more then the 6 bolts that hold the struts in place it could do a little more.

anyway this post is entierly IMO please keep that in mind

They do make a difference, especially the front. Euro-spec MX-3 GS models come with a std. factory installed upper front strut brace.

I agree Darcy. Put one on my well used (270,000km) ride and I did notice the difference. I think the frame/body gets a little tired and weak over the years and miles and this just gives it back....that extra "like new" stiffness...and then some. Of course IMO.

Both my J-spec Presso's and an MS8 came with factory strut-braces. Do any american cars come standard with strut braces?
