Just a matter of curiousity. I know several of you are running 17's, how's the ride? Anyone with 18 or 19's?
If not broke - don't fix, modify. If broke - fix it right, and make it better.

ok IMO

big wheels are a waste of money. get some light weight 15's or something with nice sticky rubber, do some suspension work, and your car will look + handle a million times better. it wont look as "awesome" as a set of dubs or whatever ( it will though). it all depends what u want really, big wheels = lots of money in tires and they can bend easy no matter what people say, i bent 2 16's easy and that was on a main highway. if you want performance then a smaller wheel well work out well on an mx-3. if you want show and not a lot of wheel gap go for a bigger size.

I am riding on 17 inch adr dv8's with 205/40/17's on them and the ride is not as comfortable as small rims would be but IMO i like the bigger look better and all you have to do is shop around and look for good deals on tires and it wont break your bank. Thats just my two cents.

ya its possible but u want a really good wheel if u can, take for example BBS wheels in 17" size, good wheel but really $$$$.

Well, It's just a matter of curiosity...
I have polished aluminum Eagle 15x7.5. Been running 195/50's, bout to change that a little. But I love the combination. The wheels fit the car perfectly, I couldn't have measured them to fit that well. I've considered 17's, but I think I'd hate the feel and handling, lots of curvy roads around here...
If not broke - don't fix, modify. If broke - fix it right, and make it better.

well im running 18x7.5 motegi mr7's with dunlop fm 901 rubber 215/35/18 and the ride is actually better then you all make it seem im on stock shocks and struts aswell but as for the curvy roads i drive on em everyday and the handleing is really good but personal prefrence i guess hopes this gives u some ideas and info anywyas peace out A town

I roll on 18s without any problems at all.
Ride quality is totally acceptable.

why wouldnt you like 17's on curvy roads? it would handle better than a 15 around the bends
um a light wieght 15 would be way better for curvy roads, im pretty sure the onyl reason some of you guys ahve good handling is the compound of the tires u have. the 901's are a soft compund and stick like hell, i used to have set and it was badass. the width of teh tire also makes a difference in handling( in the winter slimmer tires are better ) , as does the size of th side wall. running 18's with a 35 sidewall is cool as you well get no flex in the sidewall but they well probably weigh alot, that weight at all four corners sucks. plus on a car that was made to run 15s stock or 14,s going up 4 inchs does make a difference. the bigger the rim the smaller the rubber and usually the harsher the ride gets.

LIGHTWEIGHT 15s lol the way to go IMO :driver:

Thanks ppl!
As for me and my mx3, we will stick to 15's.
The tires are cheaper, with great performance, and tolerance for varying road conditions.
and since they fit perfectly...

I though a smaller tire would provide less sidewall flex giving ya better handeling

i got some lightweight 16x7's. I had 17's in the past on my protege, and they just slowed the thing down and looked ridiculous. 16's are nice looking & allow for thicker tires & more protection for the rim. Plus they are wider, which gives the best benefits of all.

I have 2 sets of 17's both ligher than the stock 15's ? :confused2:
I also have a pair of American Racing rims 16's and a pair of Motegi Mr7's in 16's they all ride fine ?
So just dont get a big heavy rim and you will be fine.
Also The 16inch american racing rims are for sale . Check the FS forum .
