E-Bay Coilovers

Post by MX3newbie77 »

I was just on e-bay and saw almost 30 sets of Dropzone Coilovers. I was wondering if anyone has used them and if they are any good. I am a student and we all know how much money they have, so the price seemed too good to be true. Any Help?

depending on which forum or board you go on, some people like them others dont. you may be new to this forum but that does not disqualify you from using the search function. welcome to the board.

You get what you pay for. There is a reason why Ground Control's are like 4 times the price...and it's not all in the name.

how did you customize them if it's not secret? also did you go and do alignment on car after you lowered it?

The DropZone coilovers are total garbage.
There`s no way you can get good quality coilovers for $99, just think about it.

The springrates are way to high for any struts we have available. I really hope ProtegeSTS will comment on this, even though he has done so several times before...

Stay away from DropZone`s... get some Eibach, or suspension technique springs, just don`t ruin your Mx3 with this crap.

Samm:
Are you seriously running these on stock struts? are you nuts? :) with that kind of springrate on stock struts, the car will be dangerous to drive...

What I`ve learnt is, if you gonna do something, then do it right.

you have no idea what your suspension is like.

"customized" struts, for the rest of you, is when you cut off the spring pearch and let the sleeve sit all the way down at the bottom.

Using stock struts...hehehe...have fun bouncing all over the place.

get under the car while it's on the ground, and look to see how much of the strut shaft is still in site. Now figure on what the fully compressed height of the strut is. The difference is the travel that you have.

You're right, you don't bounce off the struts...if it's lowered 4", you're RIDING with the struts already bottomed out.
