Suspension Knock?
I have a knocking sound coming from around the front passenger side area. I originally thought it was my MSD ignition being a little loose but have ruled that out. I have removed the splash guards thinking it could have been those but now it is getting worse. It isn't affected by turning. The knocking can be felt by the passenger's feet when in the foot well. Last night it sounded like a scraping, metal on metal sound. I looked under the car and saw nothing but haven't had the chance to jack it up and take the wheel off. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be so I can narrow my search?<P>If I broke the sway bar I am gonna scream. I already managed to snap the rear bar 2 years ago.

Re: Suspension Knock?
My money is on the sway bar link. It's a little part about 4" long that connects the control arm to the sway bar. It's got a ball joint at either end that tends to wear out. I had one go and it sounds like you've got a SERIOUS bearing prob or something. The initial sound is a loud kocking...kinda like someone is rapping on the floor boards with a hammer. This usually happens only when you're putting a load on one wheel, like turning into a parking lot or if only one wheel hits a speed bump. The part can be a bit of a pain to get off and I think they cost about $85 CDN from the dealer. Just pull your wheel off and you should see the link right in front of you. Good luck.
