Blown

Post by RyanJ »

Hi, Im new to the mazda scene, just picked up a 93 MX-3 for a beater and I want to know is there any kind of turbo or supercharger kit for it, and if not what do I need to do to get a custom setup? I have a DOHC 4cyl. Ive searched the forums and I cant understand the engine codes everyone is talking about. (Im a GM mechanic) any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here ya go

That should help you under stand the the 4 cyl engine coges (the 6 are the same, except K/KL prefix instead of B).

As for turbo, don't quote me, but I pretty sure you have to go costum.

One last thing, make sure you search in the future, because this has been posted numerous times before, and eventually people get sick of sying over an over again. (the button is top right corner)

Are you sure you have a DOHC? 92-93 mx3s are SOHC, not DOHC. Except if you don't have the original motor, of course!

I believe they phased in the DOHCs in late 93 so it could be possible.

Yep, Im sure its a DOHC... Ive resealed the valvecover. Kind of hard not to notice the extra cam.
And sorry for making anyone repost anything they wrote about this already, but because of my ignorance of engine codes I could not find info that made sense. :2thumbsup:
