NA and turbo....
NA and turbo....
Ive never really understood this. Why do people have to make a choice between N/A or a turbo?
Wouldnt the car be the best if you changed the heads, pistons, motor, etc....and then added a turbo?
Thats what im trying to do, but I cant find any aftermarket headers besides the bullfrog ones.
Elena, don't misunderstand. A pro isn't someone who sacrifices themselves for their job. That is just a fool.

Re: NA and turbo....
If you have a turbo charger put in your shop will most likley build custom headers. If you are a welder and have access to a tig welder you can have the flanges cut at a machine shop and then weld headers together yourself, but if I were you I'd wait until your ready for turbo to do your headers because even if you find some probe headers that will work with very little mods, when they install the turbo their going to tear it out, or if you do it yourself you will have to alter them so that they run up to the turbo. In case you are wondering, the cheapest way to have flanges made is to go buy yourself a new manifold gasket and trace it onto a piece of steel, take it in and your flanges will be ready in a couple hours. AGAIN- I would advise you to wait because they will also cut all the flanges for your turbo at the same time (much better deal) I was quoted 100-150 US. Anyway, hope this helps. (I'm just starting to make my headers, I'll let you know how they turn out.
JG

Re: NA and turbo....
The reason for NA or Turbo, (or forced induction rather which includes supercharged), is the fact that forced induction and compression don't go together. Just doesn't work, the engine will kill itself basically. So people who are building an engine decide if they wanna do NA or forced. Hope that is a little helpful.
mason
MX3SE
