Re: Nitrous
All depends on what you want as your end result. A 75 shot pushed my car into the high 14's with a few other mods and slicks.Originally posted by RideLoudAndFast:

Re: Nitrous
yes ....and no.
If you want an inexpensive easy install, power on demand (for weekends at the track) while keeping day to day drivability without compromising emissions and fuel economy than yes nitrous is the way to go. Part of why I chose it.
If you can afford it go turbo, but if you have emissions tests and so on you'll have to plan ahead. Your fuel economy will suffer as well without some proper tuning

Re: Nitrous
Are the Zex dry shots adjustable or do you have to get the correct kit? Found a kit that comes with the 65 shot...just wondering if I can adjust it to 50.
Re: Nitrous
Hmmm...the zex website kits come in 55 - 125 shots. Doesn't sound like they are adjustable cause they taylor the kits to the model car you need and they do have an MX-3 kit. Not sure what shot comes for the MX-3 kit tho. Anyone know?

Re: Nitrous
ZEX kits are adjustable. They come with different jets. 55, 65, and 75.
other jets can be purchased seperately.
and the kits are universal....I have one for sale

Re: Nitrous
whats the highest shot anyone has?
Re: Nitrous
Yeah I finally found the info on the Zex website. The kit I found is missing the 55 and 75 jets. You selling your kit? How much?Originally posted by Darren Hyderman:

Re: Nitrous
Cool, I found I can order the replacement jets from zex to adjust the shot to 55. I won the universal dry kit on ebay for $275 which is a steal. Need to get the Walbro 255 fuel pump now.

Re: Nitrous
dont go bigger then like 55 for a dry shot its not really smart
Re: Nitrous
I got my Zex kit today and also the missing jets I needed coincidentally. I now have the 55 shot jets I need to adjust it. Buying a used kit I think was definately the cheaper way to go being I only paid $275 which included the whole kit with the tank as well. A new Zex kit runs $611.94 before shipping (which is cheaper then NX or Nos kits by the way). The only drawback to buying it used is I have to run additional wires where the originals were cut short but that's hardly worth worrying about. Most of the parts you can get at a local hardware store for much less if you know what you are doing. The Zex kit from what I'm looking at seems pretty easy to install. However since I have a custom intake, I have to drill some holes. The nice thing about this kit is it comes with the proper drill tap for the hole I need to drill. Installs take an average of 30 minutes for this kit. It'll probably take me an hour since this is new to me. Still much cheaper and easier to do myself until I can make myself a custom Turbo.
