Looking for Nitrous bottle controller guinea pig

Post by TsiMiata »

I have just recieved the prototypes of a new product I am developing. It is a Nitrous Bottle opener controller(thats a mouthful). What this gadget does is automatically switch your nitrous bottle opener open & closed. In the usual opener install you have to install another switch to control the bottle opener. When you arm your nitrous system you have to hold this switch for a few seconds to open it, when you want to close the bottle you have to hold the switch again to close it. With the controller I've developed when you arm your nitrous system the opener will automatically be "opened" and when you shut off the nitrous system the opener is automatically closed. This eliminates the need for an additional switch and allows the system to be fully armed with the flip of one switch. Makes those impromptu stop light drags a little easier ;-) Another advantage is if you have a bottle heater you don't need to worry about the bottle being open for the pressure switch to work. You can wire this so that when the bottle heater is on the bottle will automatically open.
What I am looking for is some one to be a beta tester for the controller and give me some real world feedback. The requirements are you are running a ZEX or Nitrous Express bottle opener currently. Here is a picture of the board-
Image
As you can see I've invested some time and money in this and this is a REAL product. FYI- It will be housed in a black ABS plastic box which measures 4.60"x3.35"x1.35"
For connections it requires-
12v+ Battery power
Ground
Motor positive & Negative
12v+ switched power when the system is armed
All connections are done with 1/4" spade terminals. So no need to worry about running out of wire length. It also has an internal fuse to protect from short circuiting and overload. There are LED's that illuminate to tell you what function the controller is doing, opening or closing, for diagnostic purposes.
If anyone is interested and is also motivated enough to get this installed right away please let me know.
To the Admin- I'm not sure if I am within the forum rules posting this here. Please let me know if this is appropriate and if not what I should be doing.
Thanks,
Scott
[ August 21, 2003: Message edited by: TsiMiata ]
