T4 turbo question

Post by Moc5Mazda »

I have a 92 1.6 SOHC and I was wounder if I put a t4 on it if it is to much turbo to handle on that motor. The motor has already had Rx-7 Swaps done like MAS, Fuel Injectors and Fuel Pump. I have also put in a 323 turbo water pump and tranny. I know I will have to change rods and pistons but I don't want to put a T4 on if it would blow the motor. I plain only to run between 8 to 9 pounds of Boost.

a t4 is a pretty hefty turbo for that engine. Although it would work. You wouldn't see boost into well into the 3500+RPM range. If you're only planning on running 8-9psi then I'd go with a t28 or a t3. You can pick them up reletively inexpensive at a junkyard.
