question on Super AFC and ecu
I am trying to decide what ecu to go with here... As most of you know I am transplanting a b6t into my dohc four. I am going to get the apexi super afc..Should I stick with the stock ecu or go with the protege? I know the protege gives you a better fuel curve but isnt that what the afc is for? Also what about the MAF? Should I still change it to the 87 rx7 if I use the afc? I just would rather save the money if I can. Thanks!

Re: question on Super AFC and ecu
The choice on ecu is up to you. Remember that the S-AFC only modifies from the stock ecu signal, in some ways then the LX ecu is better.
You will need the RX-7 MAF. The MX-3 one is too small to attach to the Jpipe.

Is the only reason you change to the rx maf fitment? I am pretty sure I can get it to fit.
quote:
Originally posted by maldo:
The choice on ecu is up to you. Re: question on Super AFC and ecu
So sniper, would it be best in my situation to use the rx7 MAF or my stock MAF? I have a 92 4cyl, so its the sohc like yours..

Re: question on Super AFC and ecu
cjthor, i don't know what all is needed for the b6t swap but you might want to call derrick. for one thing, the pro lx ecu won't plug in for you. i found this out yesterday cause i have a dohc also. also, i'm not sure if the rx7 tb will clip into your harness. how many wires to you have going to your tps(sensor on tb). having the dohc creates issues. you have a crank angle sensor...the b6t and bpt do not. you have to have a bracket made so you can use yours. that's another reason you need your ecu and not the pro lx(they don't have a crank sensor)but my advice...call derrick

Re: question on Super AFC and ecu
Well I got lucky today. We got a 93 RS in trade at my dealership. Boy that engine looks wierd... SOHC. The TPS looks different than the one on my DOHC. Alot of the wiring looks different as well. Does anyone know of somebody that has done the b6t to DOHC swap? I am getting soooo many conflicting reports on parts to use. I dont need the rx7 MAF or the protege ecu. Any answers would be great.
