what about the b6t made you decide to go with that over the bpt?

I have a few comments and questions for you regarding your swap. First thing, you wrecked your stock F25 tranny with the b6t. You were obviously doing something to cause this since I have the stock tranny bolted to by b6t. Your 350-400hp goal with 30psi isn't a very streetable setup, what turbo are you using? It is also worth noting that the injectors that come with the b6t "can't" be used with the B6E/ZE ecu without the use of ballast resistors as the impedence of the injectors is different. The end result is a fried ecu. You purchased a set of RC 440cc injectors designed for the miata? You may want to get those resistors if you haven't already since they need to be used even on the Miata. The hole in the hood isn't a result of the TB but rather the height of the intake manifold and the angle that the engine sites at. The miata TB is sized about the same as the one on the B6ZEs found in the DOHC RS. Even the sohc TB is about 8mm larger than the stock B6T TB. Best thing to do is to bore the b6t TB out to match that of the sohc and use the plate from the sohc.
$7000 for the entire swap and parts is equal to you getting ripped off. I spent maybe $3500 in total which includes the motor, new injectors, i/c, pipes, maf, ecu, scoops, vents and the costs of installing and painting the hood. Even with the ACT clutch, S-AFC, custom 3" exhaust, FPR, even larger fuel pump, would maybe boost the total cost of my swap and first stage of mods to $4500, and remember this is in Canadian currency.
There are only a few B6Ts in the world that run over 300hp at the wheels and those belong to some of the guys on the gtx list. The very least that is needed is a t28 turbo and custom manifold to get that extra power. Good cams, stand alone, are just a few of the parts you will need. I hope you someday will make that goal since that is in the neighborhood of where my project is headed.

well i have to agree with maldo you say are not using a t3/t4 then what turbo are you using and what are your other upgrades? there are way to many wholes in your post. Let the whole story out not part of it at a time.

i'm seriously considering a b6t of bpt swap by the summer of '03, so can someone please give me a clear est. of costs for the b6t and the bpt(if possible) swaps. i won't be able to do much work myself.
does the b6t and/or bpt need new axles and tranny? i know the engine, boost guages, injectors, blow-off valve, ecu, etc., but are they any parts you wou;dn't think of needing, that are necessary? i'll most likely be swapping it in a 95 RS DOHC.

007 sniper,
sounds like it's gonna be a very fast car when it comes out! Cant wait to hear about it. what tranny are you going to replace the broken one with? And the axles would have to upgraded of course. So far Ive found people and machine shops to strengthening them but havent found a set of chromoly ones to replace them. Well, good luck and hopefully we'll see ya at the track!!

Damn, what a story! I hope you have $20k lying around to do your motor. It is fairly obvious how and why you broke axles and destroyed a tranny. I have raced on my tranny for 2 years and never had a problem. Even with the B6T there hasn't been a problem. Dumping at 3k rpm and wheel hopping isn't getting you down the strip any quicker.
The VJ-20 isn't going to allow you to hit 400hp. Not to mention 2.5" exhaust, which will be restrictive. It also isn't factory set at 25psi. If you are planning on running that high of boost, built the bottom end because you will kill it. Since you are looking at spending all your money for the next ten years on your car you might want to look at Toda's Billet crank. It is a nice piece for $3k.
Don't want to rain on your parade but you need to be realistic. Do your research and get some connections. Who did you talk to at Corksport? If it was Ben you just shot yourself in the foot. I had Derrick's help for 6 months doing my swap and it came straight from his mouth that the injectors wouldn't work because of the impedance. You need Pro LX injectors at the very least.

In regards to where I do my shopping. I usually stick with Corksport, Summit, and Options Auto. Performance Plus is a good place and has access to quite a few parts and racing accessories like my gauges and hood pins. I am not really loyal to one shop, I go where I get the best service and those tend to be the shops that I stick with. If I can get a part cheaper somewhere else I usually will go there.
