need paint!

Post by Flashpoint2 »

ok, i searched around for some info on here, but I couldn't find any. Anyone know of a place to get a decent paint job for about a grand or so in the Niagara Region? I've been to a couple of places in Welland, but they are asking for my first born child. I don't really need any bodywork done, except for the hood in front of the emblem, where it's starting to bubble.

Did you check with Maaco?

There's no Maaco here in welland. Even if there was, I still wouldn't go there. Anyone heard anything about a place called Sid's autobody in St catherines?

That's an idea, but I don't have that kind of time. It needs to be in and out asap. :froggie_red: Besides, if it's NOT done right, I have no recourse since it's a school.

Well, I have to wonder; is it the prep work, the actualy paint, or both that is sub-par? If the paint is of normal quality, then I would most definately do the prep myself, and simpley have them spary it for $300.

I know you can't do this...just posing an idea for others.

I had my RS painted at Maaco a while back. I had them fix all the dents (that they felt like doing). There's still a golf ball sized dent in the dead center of my hood, and you can make out where they did the body work on the sides. The paint chips easily too. I will NEVER go there again, nor would I reccomend anyone else to them unless they want their car to look good for only a few months.
