You can use regular car wax, but it's not quite as effective and it doesn't last as long. If they're yellow, they'll still clear up significantly. But if they're all scratched up it won't work as well.

I actually have a similar question...when I bought my car one of the headlights had been recently replaced, which means one is a lot older...and looks it. I can't tell if the one (older) headlight is just much dirtier or maybe even just a cheeper headlight all together. It's very "foggy" whereas the new one is clear, anything I can use to shine it up? Or should I just replace it?

I have the same problem. I actually think it's on the inside of the lense. It's a somewhat yellow haze and I think you have to open the lense to clean it. It has to be properly sealed when put back together or moisture will get inside.

This has to be the most asked question on this board, since I just did mine I will tell my version.
Get a good plastic cleaner, (i used meguiar's #17) to get all the grime and stuff out of the tiny scratches in the lens.
Then use a plastic polish (for this step I used Meguiars #10)but ive heard on this board about blue magic,i couldn't find it though.I'm sure any clear plastic polish would work fine.I got the Meguiars at NAPA for 6 bucks.
Put the polish on the lens ,rub it in good, then buff, buff, buff with a clean towel.
Tip:Buy your own towels, wives and mothers get p.o.ed when you use thiers.
Then repeat with the polish,I did mine like 4 times and they kept gettin glossier and shinier.
Bye Bye yellow lenses.
6 bucks an some elbow grease.

I'm a little confused. I have read what everybody has said but no one has made it clear if this it to polish the outside or inside of the lenses. I want to polish the inside as well. How do I take the lenses of to polish the inside?

In most cases it is the outside. Do that first! Polish the hell out of it until you are absolutely sure it's on the inside. The lights are hard to reseal properly and taking the actual lense off is not recommended at all.

A friend of mine used just regular old toothpaste on his headlights and they turned out great. I guess baking soda might have something to do with it. but either way theyre nice and shiney. :D

Mine isn't yellow, though, just foggy, almost white. So what I'm thinking is could it be possible that the one older headlight is just a cheaper style? And if it is...how much would a new one cost? And if it is just dirty...and say I were to take the short cut and just get a new one...again, how much would it cost? Where would I get it?
