Those look nice! How did you do them? Cause it looks like it's not done from the outside but there's vinyl on the inside of the tailights.

how much would a set of MX-3 tail lights cost me? I might want to try this... but incase I don't like the results(or I mess up), could I strip the paint? or how much would new ones cost? (for a pair)
estimates of course...

It was actually quite simple. I didn't use spraypaint... I used vinyl that I bought from a store that makes signs. I picked up two pieces a bit bigger than each light for $3. Then I removed the tail-lights and CAREFULLY stretched the vinyl over the lights. Next, I trimmed around the edges. Then I took a coffee mug, and traced it on a piece of THIN cardboard (such as the cardboard found on a 24 pack of soda). I cut out the circle and used chalk to put the circle on the vinyl. Then I CAREFULLY used a razor blade to cut out the 3 coffee mug sized circles. Next I did the same with a wine glass for the turn signal, and then an American silver dollar for the other one on the turn signal.
I hope that explains how I did it Rich. If you have anymore questions just post it. As for BumpNGlow don't worry about buying another set of lights because if you screw up, you can just peel it off and start over. Actually the set you saw in the pics was my second try since I had too many wrinkles in the first attempt. But really its like the cheapest mod (only $3 USD) anyone can do with such great outcome!
Thanks for your responses :).

Forgot to mention... I am starting a website that covers step by step (including pictures) on how to do mods such as vinyl tails, custom intakes, painted interiors, white gauges, etc. Also do you guys think it would be cool if I bought some of that carbon-fiber vinyl from "Dashwood" and re-did my tails with those?
By the way, Mr. Coleman would you please delete those first two posts that I messed up on? I don't want to look THAT computer illiterate :).
[ April 15, 2002: Message edited by: mattster ]
