headlight conversion
i'm saving up for a pair of s15 nissan silvia headlights for my mx-3 which will be molded to my erebuni bumper. how do you guys think it will look?<BR>i also want to mold a blitz rear bumper to the mx-3 because it looks well with the fx side skirts.<BR>any suggestions on taillight conversions or should i leave them stock?<BR>if there are any users out there good with photoshop that can do a little mx-3 with that blitz rear bumper and s15 conversion, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Re: headlight conversion
Just my opinion! ok?<BR>Don't mess with the Mx-3 look, its a beautiful car! Don't put other s--- from other cars on the MX-3~!!<BR>I think it looks pretty gay, personally! i seen an mx-3 with eclipse altezza's on it, it looked ok, but it just didn't seem right! Mx-3 is an aweosme car and looks great with the headlights it has and tail lights it has, just leave it alone.<BR>Now, some of u may think im a hypocrit (i can't spell that word..lol)because i have a body kit and it changes the look of my car alot, but the way i see it, the kit was made for my car, it wasn;t off a civic or eclipse.<BR>if it's made for ur car and it changes the look , then hey go for it! But if u have to modify ur car to make it fit, then i think ur making a wrong decision!<BR>This is just my opinion, <BR>later<BR>PS: if u do it, im sure it will look ok, and wish u the best of luck! Remember...ITS UR CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: headlight conversion
we have to modify the original mx-3 body kits to make them fit anyway since they fit crappy. also the headlights are pissing me off with those yellow mist effects. i'm thinking of just the s15 glass headlights. the molded blitz rear bumper matches well with the fx designs side skirts too.

Re: headlight conversion
I Agree mx3 is a beautiful car...to start changing things is a bit far...I wish the aftermarket parts were a bit larger, but I think that is what the mx-3 special. We are not a honda civic and were proud of it, We are not the mx6 and we are proud of it. <P>JCali

BTW in the first reply, the "I think it looks gay, personally" was refering to the Eclipse altezza's, not what you are planning.

I have tons of guys on this site to back me up! if u do it right, they don't back the yellowish look that u say they do! i usaully polish mine every two or three car washes...i could probably leave them for a while, but i like the new shiney look...and im very pickey with my car and how it looks! so i do it every two or three car washes! If they are going yellowish after one night, try getting a plastic clear polish that remeves swrill marks!<BR>So, Yes it does take a little effort to make ur car look good, but common, put some time and hard work into ur car and it wil be appreciated! I always get a lot of positive comments on my headlights!<BR>As for ur last post a few posts back...said something like "WTF" , whats that mean? all i can think of is whatever! if that s what ur saying, then man, grow up! don't put an opinion question on this board where it subject to get criticised and expect all positive things said about ur idea, it's like ur saying if u don't like my idea than SCREW U! It's just my opinion, if u dont't like healthy criticism , than don't put posts up asking us what it would be like to do this or that!<BR>Pretty crappy attitiude i think man
<BR>PS; lol..if u WTF didn't mean that , than sorry man, but please let me know what it meant!<BR>later guys, sorry admin if i was out of hand , but i've been here a while, i think u see where im comming from, right?<P><BR>

Re: headlight conversion
wtf means "what the f***"....i said that because you said that my idea will look gay personally, then you say that the eclipse rear end look's ok but doesn't look right, then you said "if you do it, it will look ok"...i didn't mean offense by saying wtf....i meant it as "ok so which one is it?"<P>i think molding s15 headlights is more time and effort to be appreciated than just putting in glass projectors.

Re: headlight conversion
Well reason why i kept saying it would look ok, but i don' t like it was becasue i didn't want to dis ur ride man, we all have our own ideas of what looks cool, so i thought, " i don't like his idea, but instead of saying it s soo freakin ugly".....i said i personally don't like it, but i guess it would be ok if u liked it.<BR>thats all..sorry to sound confusing, cuz i know i do get confusing, i even confuse my self sometimes!

Re: headlight conversion
hey if you want to do the s15 conversion and any other mods using other car manufactures parts go for it who cares if it ruines the cars natural beauty. many people do mods like these to stand out from the crowd, and when they dont make s--- for this car then you should especially do it.
Re: headlight conversion
the only thing is it IS going to cost A LOT unless you can do it yourself. i am a body tech and i can tell you that it will take a long time to make it look good and not to mention the head lights cost about $800, but if you have the money do it

Re: headlight conversion
you're a body tech?! can you tell me how much it would cost to mold an eclipse blitz rear bumper to the mx3? i can't get any price quotes on the shops around here except for pann auto, but they do crappy jobs if you aren't "hooked up" with em.

Re: headlight conversion
about the only way to mold the rear bumper is if you can get a urathane bumper. you can only mold fiber glass to fiberglass, and urathane to urathane. but molding urathane is hard to make it look right with out showing lines. also it will probably be hard to find a shop that does custom stuff, because body shops do not do custom molding.
