Barry's badass lights

Post by canadian_ice »

Hey Barry,
Do you have a "how-to" on these lights? They look awesome! I don't know if I want to use the white or use the black tint spray like Kick a-- Mazda.
Image
http://www.barrykclark.com/images/ext3.jpg if the image doesn't show.

well, in my opinion, get the thickest stuff you can find. Thin will tend to weather outside and start to peel, thats why I removed mine. Try Sign shops.
YOu can probably use something like this
Sun Visors
Its similar to what I used. But I got mine at a performace shopwhen I was in New York on a business trip. Mine was thing though. Find something thick. IF you do find something thick..let me know plz.

hey i did the same thing as barry except i did mine with black vinyl. you can easily find it at a sign shop for less than $5. the hardest part is stretching the vinyl so that it doesn't leave any wrinkles or bubbles. anyway... have you guys ever seen that carbon fiber looking vinyl made by dashwood? i was thinking that would make the taillights look really sweet.

I used a drinking glass. I put the reverse one on 1st, and cut it out. Then I did the rest based off of that one.Just use an exacto knife (hobby knife) to cut it out. Be forewarned this will leave a circle scratch on your lens. Yes the vinyl was already on the car when I cut the circles out.
[ April 01, 2002: Message edited by: Custommx3 ]

So Barry now that you don't have them on, your tail lights are scratched to hell? OR did you get new ones?

when I cut the vinyl I knew it would scratch so I barley touched the vinyl. My lenses have been polished so I dont have anything on them. there may be 1 or 2 small faint curves in them, but not noticeable unless your right up on it about 3-4 inches away.
