Clear signal lense
I am wanting to put clear signals on my car, in place of the amber ones, Corksport sells 2 options,
Just the Signal lenses (e-spec that says requires carefull install )
and the signal lenses PLUS the houseing for almost 3 times the cost,
I was wondering,
IS THIs housing RECOmmened by any of you owners? seem like a lot of extra cash for just the housing, Give me some insight as to what decision i should make! thanks guys
mx3-boi@shaw.ca

Re: Clear signal lense
It depends on how much work you want to do
because the ones the don't come with the housing you have to heat up your stock like until the amber one comes off and then put the clear one on with apoxy but there is no promise that it would seal right
so if you want to take the chance it is up to you
I forget if the mazda miata came with clear and if they did then they with fit so I've heard

Re: Clear signal lense
i recommend getting the housing. unless you have experience in this type of stuff, it probably won't come out well. the amount of work if you buy it w/the housing is practically nothing. you unscrew the old signal and take out the bulb, put the bulb in the new signal and screw that one in. takes a few minutes.
as for the miata fitting, that is the side-marker not the corner signals. the miata lense fits the mx-3 side-marker, which only costs like $30.

Re: Clear signal lense
get the ones with no housing. if you want it to be truely clear you need to paint the inside(the inside of the housing is orange) of the housing so youd have to rip them open anyways. its not that much work to heat them up and pull the lenses off the housing. go for just the lenses and save some $$

Re: Clear signal lense
when you buy them w/the housing, the housing is not orange. it is a light gray color. so you don't "have to rip them open". you can install them immediately when you receive them, and there isn't any orange.
[ March 17, 2002: Message edited by: finchuck ]
