Clear side markers trouble

Post by Andrew_Pakula »

I ordered some clear side markers not too long ago from procarparts.com but haven't until now tried to install them.
It seems they are not quite a perfect fit, on both side they will stick out slightly(on one side more then the other).
I've heard this is a common problem for the Rear markers but this is when trying to install them on the front bumper.
Any suggestions?
Can I shave down part of the pastic on the inside maybe to allow it more space?

On the Front they are sticking out.
On the drivers side only by a little, on the passengers side it sticks out a lot more.
I'm going to play around with it some more tonight and if i can't get it fitted any better I'll try shaving them a bit.

Well aren't all those clear side markers out there made for the Miata? They never made clear side markers specifically for the MX-3.
So getting them to fit on the MX-3 is a partial custom job, in that you need to shave them down here and there to get them to fit in flush.
That's why I made my own ;)

How should I shave them? Just with some sand paper or something?

ANDREW,TO SEE WHATS MAKING YOUR LENSES STICK OUT,YOU MIGHT WHAT TO TAKE OFF YOUR BUMPER. IF YOU CAN GET A HOLD OF A HAND HELD DRUMLE (I'm not sure thats how you spell it)THAT WOULD HELP YOU OUT ALOT, IT WILL BE EASYER TO USE IN TIGHT CORNER. SANDPAPER IS FINE BUT YOU MIGHT WANT TO TAPE OFF YOUR CAR ITS EASY TO SCRATCH YOUR PAINT. :p
