Help guys

Post by kalynn12 »

Okay the first thing I am doing to my car is painting it. But the paint shop says there are 2 different types, enamel with a top coat and base clear with a top coat. Help! Which one do I get, is it worth the extra 400 dollars to get the base coat or is the guy trying just to make more money?
Jess

the base clear is more often called Single stage, Toyotas have this style more often.
I dont like it my self, I find the paint dulls easier and less attractive. Base and Clear is a two step process, They spray the base (color) maybe 3 coats and then the clear 2-3 coats usually. This Way to me, give nicer results and easier to keep a shine on it.
