I guess the engines stays somewhere from 190 - 220 degrees F. But can get hotter!<P>you may look in to Powdercoating the Valve Cover. Thats what Id like to do when I ever get the money<BR>

I am planning to paint my valve cover next weekend and the paint i got can resist ca. 395 F. it is called hammerite<BR>I'll paint it red and then sand the paint off the letters "MAZDA"
