About 130's the highest I went. Had a bit left on the tachometer, but didn't want to push my luck since I was starting to come out of unpopulated desert area into metro area. Just ran up to touch it, then dropped back to cruising speed (100mph). I could see 138 on the speedo with a tailwind. Not sure how accurate the speedo is, though.

The abosolute top speed of a k-8 completely stock is about 127 mph. This is fugured out by red line, gear ratio and tire size. If you have larger tires, you will go faster, but your speedo will read slower.

Anyways, a k-8 with stock tranny and rims will go no faster then about 127mph without exceeding the redline. Everyone's 130 claims are slighlty inaccurate speedos (Check your odometer in a five mile test and you will see I'm right); mazda isnt perfect.

Will have to get a complete dyno done when I take my mx-3 in for an e-test this summer because according to my speedo I have had mine up to 235 km/h.....in English that's what?....approx. 140.3 m/h? Mind you that was on a nice open road with not much to dodge but the odd piece of road kill.

I've only had my stock MX-3 GS up to 105MPH so far..had to slow down due to upcomming traffic... was still accellerating when I pulled off.

No, I was not on a track.

Well I did 200 km/h (about 124 mph) and it was with the engine speed of 6500 rpms... So I had like 700 more rpms spared meaning I would probably do the suggested 210 km/h (130 mph). I still don't know if Iyingchopstick's mx-3 is stock but it seems unbeliveable to reach that high speed with standard one.
Anyways i reached mine on normal road...It was empty though but imagine how focused i was... :driver:

i've nver had mine past 115....i don't really care how fast it can go, as long as its fast enough to keep up with traffic on the highway.

Top speed should be 132 according to the tire size, gear ratio, final drive & RPM limit, of course it'll go up higher b/c of the fuel cutoff which is around 7400rpm. By then you should be up past 140 a little bit.

My 626 tranny should allow me to surpass 150 if I try, but I won't b/c its stupid revving your car that high for such a prolonged period of time since it takes a long time for your engine to overcome the wind resistance and crap.

My car was all stock at the time accept for a full catback and k&n in the box.. It was with 95k on the odometer.. And I've hit somewhere around 132-135 every time after that with upwards of 150k on the odometer..
