Is this the 2.5 KL ecu?

Post by Mradio »

I just bought the ecu from some guy on probetalk, it looks like my old k8 ecu, so I have no idea if the part i got is correct.
Here are the numbers on the ecu:
KL-50
Is there anyway to trace the number to the model/year it came from?

I did some more searching, it turns out that this ID: KL50-18881-B (the number that is on my ecu) stands for 2.5 ecu for California cars.

What the hell is the difference between this and the other states?

California emissions are more restrictive, so I would assume it runs less timing and fuel, and maybe the EGR operation is more aggressive.

my idle is now perfect, no more jumping up and down at stops. It also seems like it burns ALOT less fuel, i will post how many miles I get out of a tank of 93. With the stock 1.8 ECU and VAF I was barely getting 150 miles on a full tank.
