Mx3 and 323

Post by rinkymx3 »

do the MX3 and the 323 have the same 1.8l engine?
Just asking because i need a new distributer assembly and called a wreckers and they said they have one from a 323 that would work.

Apparently the canadian spec 323's came with the B8-ME 1.8 SOHC motor, but never a V6.

I wouldn't trust anything that wrecker says if they are that foolish to think that 323's came with that engine.

Sweet pics Barry, never seen a truer hybrid car. Couldn't tell where the 323 ended and the MX-3 started. LOL

I remember when I was living in the UK 5 years ago there WAS a 323 at the dealership with a 1.8l V6 - I am sure Ian will be able to confirm or deny!

Maybe the confusion is made by the Mazda Lantis. It is called 323 in Europe (not sure about the same on the USA) and there is one version which houses the Kf-ze engine.
Looking at Barry's pictures I feel that nothing is impossible to do!

I was going to say no, but I checked, and you're right, there was a V6 - it was a 2.0l V6 (147 bhp)!!!

Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
Extra thick soundproofing in the boot (trunk) to quieten my stainless steel exhaust system :)

If it's got a 2.5L V6, then yes.

no BG-chassis 323 ever had a V6. The only one that would come close is the one called the "323F" which is actually an Astina, but called "323F" in europe. It isn't the same as a regular 323 hatch.
