ok i have a question. i was thinking of getting a k&n air filter for the stock air intake. i know theye cost like $60 but i was wondering if it was realy worth it to get one, or should i stick to the cheep ones.
be happy you mknow they are that cheap. When I bought my intake kit (basically an air filter, small piece of hose and two c clamps). the air filter flows good, i don't know how the cheap ones are
I can recommend from personal experience the Ractive Heat Shield Filter. It costs $33, and I have two of them. Gives the engine a very nice sound. Also if you are going to be turning the filter into a cold air intake, the heat shield is a nice addition.
I think he's talking about the stock, stock air box. You know, the plastic box intake? K&N makes just OEM filter pads that use the cotton media with the K&N media oil. It supposedly flows more air that your standard like Purolator or FRAM filter. You should be able to find one for closer to $40 than $60 if you look online.
i bought an oem replacement k&n air filter for my mx soon after i had bought it and didnt see any gains from it. nor did i hear a change in the exhaust tone, although i had allready put a grapefruit shooter on my car by that point.my car also had about 120,000 mi on it so the engine wasnt in the best shape in the first place. my 2 cents would be for you just to decide if you want to pay the money for it.
late night conversations turn into a fight, and all the years youve been frustrated finaly subside, and you walk away, to face the day, alone.
save your cash and just buy a cold air intake system ractive will be done theirs near the end of august. wont be all that much money either.
but if you really need a new filter go with the K&N they are all around good filters and you may get a lil more air
