PRC Valve Vacuum Hose

The vacuum hose that goes from the fuel Pressure reg to the PRC Valve solenoid, has what looks like a silver BB at the solenoid end. Is this right? Air will not pass in either direction.

Just ditch that solenoid and run the FPR right off the intake manifold vacuum. It is only there for when the car is warming up. I noticed no difference with it hooked up VS. disconnected. I've removed this solenoid from several different makes of cars with zero trouble.
