I've yet to find this info out with any google or searching on here.
I want to know what the flow rates of the stock K8-DE fuel pump. (flow is measured in lph or gpm).
Also what is it's pressure rated at (pressure is measured in bar, psi, or kpa).
I'm trying to figure out if upgrading to a MX6/PGT fuel pump would a beneficial upgrade for KF and KL swapped MX3's. I am NOT going to buy a walbro pump. They are too damn loud and expensive for their own good.
So far I've found out some pressure rates of the 323/Protege DX/MX3 RS fuel pump VS the Protege LX/ Escort GT (BP-DE powered cars). They are rated at 64psi and 85psi respectively. The DOHC 1.6 MX3's might have the 85psi unit, but I know for a fact the MX3 SOHC 16v has the crappier fuel pump.
I have a hunch our K8 might be the same unit as the Protege LX, but I still don't know the flow rates of the protege ones.

One way to find out might be to go to the autoparts store and crosscheck parts numbers for MX-3 GS, MX-6 LS, and Protege ES all of the same year.
Also, another option might be.....I was reading a fuel pump in April Trubo Mag. It looks like you can get real gains if you throw a voltage regulator on your fuel pump's power and set it high at 16.5 volts. Looks like a 25% flow increase across the board for all the pumps betwen 16.5 volts and 13.5 volts. A small Jacobs Accuvolt or something like that should do the trick.

Hrmm. I just did what you suggested.
The smae fuel pumps are in the following:
MX3 GS and RS (all years), Protege LX and DX (90-94 years). Which would be the 85psi pump.
The Festiva and older 85-89 323's have the 64psi pump.
Seems the info posted on clubprotege was wrong.
The PGT's pump DOES have a different part number though, so I'm still wondering about its flow & pressure rates. I posted a thread about that on PT.

the whole point of me posting is so I would NOT have to pay $100 for a walbro pump. I can easily jack one from a probe in my local yard.

If the flow rates are different, I know I read somewhere that someone was able to use the MX-6 sized pump with slight mods to fit.

Wil,
According to a member of probetalk that I talked too, he said that the stock PGT fuel pump flows 90 lph. You might want to try and search PT.
