I'd get one from an MX-6 so you could get the higher geared 5th gear for better fuel efficiency on the freeway.

would the mx6 tranny be good for all round driving on highway on the darg strip around town ... or just mostly for the long drives...
when i say drag strip i don't mean full blown out drag racing..

The Probe transmission is geared exactly like the MX-3. The MX-6 is the only one with a taller 5th gear. Gears 1-4 are the same, though, so acceleration should be exactly the same on either until you get to that 5th gear. Since in drag racing, you'd be lucky to make it to 4th gear in the 1/4 mile, it woun't affect your 1/4 mile time at all.

The clutch and flywheel will transfer over fine, though you'd be silly to not replace the clutch while you're in there unless you just replaced it recently.
