Mazda doesn't make every component itself. Their suppliers include Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Nippon Denso......

take 10 mins and look under the hood in your car. I bet you'll find at least 5 small items made by mitsubishi. The only thing faulty that i know of that mitsubishi manufactured is the disty. Everything else holds up fine

this may be true for the mx-3 but lets not get started on what's wrong w/a mitsubishi manufactured car ie. eclipse, lancer....

i dont understand though, why not make your own parts? mazda probably makes the same parts for other companies that they could be making for themselves? is it cheaper or something?

Mitsubishi makes most of the electronics/sensors under your hood.

Why does it matter that Mitsu makes something in your car? Does your car drive differently now that you know the part is in there? No.

Most people dont seem to understand that mitsubishi is not just a car company. They are like GE they have different divisions for different products in completely different markets. There are three Mitsubishi companies, that are completely seperate from one another. There is Mitsubishi motors, Mitsubishi electronics (tvs and such) and Mitsubishi semi conductors. Look at their company logo the three leaves on it, represent a different company under the Mitsubishi corporate banner.

thanks

I know Hyundai's original V6 in the Sonata was entirely designed by Mitsubishi. I believe one of the earlier Dodge minivans also had a Mitsubishi sourced V6 in it. The 3.0 I believe. Mitsubishi's engineering department gets around.
