Idea?

I know the 2000-2002 Mercury Cougar's are basically newer probes.. They have a 2.5 v6 any chance this engine would fit into the mx-3? or How different is it...

No they dont fit. I'm fairly sure they have the Duratec block which does not swap into our cars.
Mods:
- ZE, Mike seli 214 intake cams, Ported n polished heads, Interprep valve springs, DE retainers, rebuilt bottom end, toga main and rod bearings, toga hv oil pump, CZT 67mm tb, mbx udp, ported intake mani, SS headers, 2.5inch full exhaust, racingbeat muffler, highflow cat, megasquirt v2.

new toy, 86 TII rx7, JDM S5 motor/turbo, + alot of other goodies

Why would you? It has only 170hp. The ZE has 195.

I'll confirm... Duratecs are not a direct swap.
And I believe they are ~ 160-165.

the cougars duratec engine was 170hp @6250rpm and 165lb-ft @ 4250rpm
