question about the egr and soleniod vale

i was wondering since i recent;y installed a kf-ze in my protege and am new to these engines and there wiring i was wondering if i can run my car with out my egr i've read different threads that have said yes and no, and also i don't know the exact name but i know its the soleniod vale that connects to the fuel preasure regulator, well my engine also did not come with this, do i need this or can i drive with out it you info would help me greatly

On the 92 gs if you unplug the vacuum tube that goes to the fuel pressure regulator it increases the fuel pressure. So I imagine it would be the same for your mazda. I just used a little breather filter (from selenoid) on the end of the vacuum tube to keep out the crud.
