Re: need a quick answer on ze ecu?!?
as far as code, I have no idea what your referring to.
And you cant use an OBDII ECU, it has a different plug, from what I understand.

Re: need a quick answer on ze ecu?!?
isn't there a serial number on the engine that's you the date of fabrication and the car it came out of? Basically I just want to know if there's a way that I can find out what year is my engine

Re: need a quick answer on ze ecu?!?
the OBD version is related to the wiring harness more than which engine you buy. If you bought a 96 KLZE that used OBD II, you could still run it with OBDI, but you'd have to swap all of your sensors over to it

ohh so all of our cars are OBD1 except 96..well that's good to hear...if I take out my ecu (stock k8 ecu) and I go to the place that I'm buying it from and it's the same plug, can I assume it's obd1 too?..I aprecite your help...really..I don't know what I would do without that board..

Re: need a quick answer on ze ecu?!?
There is no such thing as an OBD2 KLZE. OBD2 is a US standard and wasn't used on anything but north american cars.

I seem to remember that Japanese Domestic models have never had OBDII. If that's correct, there is no such thing as a KLZE OBDII ECU.
