need a quick answer on ze ecu?!?

ok guys I got a KLZE engine and don't know what year (jsut know it came out of an mx6)..my car is a 92 MX3 gs...I'm going to buy my KL31 ZE ecu tomorrow but I want to know do I have to buy a obd1 ecu or obd2..I would figure a obd1..I don't know much about those..I need your help...Do I need the year of the engine..Where's the code on the engine so I can identify it..Thanx for you help..

what happen if I put an obd2 ecu on my obd1 car...I found a KLZE ecu but the sticker on it that said KL31/36 isn't there anymore...but the guy asures me that it's a KLZE ecu because they don't carry american stuff..I'm gonna buy it and try it ..Can I now if it's a ObdX by the plugs or is there any way i can find out without the sticker on it??...I really need your help because I'm going there tomorrow.

as far as code, I have no idea what your referring to.
And you cant use an OBDII ECU, it has a different plug, from what I understand.

isn't there a serial number on the engine that's you the date of fabrication and the car it came out of? Basically I just want to know if there's a way that I can find out what year is my engine

the OBD version is related to the wiring harness more than which engine you buy. If you bought a 96 KLZE that used OBD II, you could still run it with OBDI, but you'd have to swap all of your sensors over to it

94+ MX3 --- OBD2

ohh so all of our cars are OBD1 except 96..well that's good to hear...if I take out my ecu (stock k8 ecu) and I go to the place that I'm buying it from and it's the same plug, can I assume it's obd1 too?..I aprecite your help...really..I don't know what I would do without that board..

There is no such thing as an OBD2 KLZE. OBD2 is a US standard and wasn't used on anything but north american cars.

I seem to remember that Japanese Domestic models have never had OBDII. If that's correct, there is no such thing as a KLZE OBDII ECU.
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
Extra thick soundproofing in the boot (trunk) to quieten my stainless steel exhaust system :)

THANX a million guys..Now I can sleep knowing I'll be getting the right ecu tomorrow...BTW if some of you guys looking for KLZE ecu's engineland sells them for 200 CND (145USD)..
